 "Dolls and Toys of Native America" It's a really lovely book. For our kids, play has always been a preparation for life. By playing with miniature dolls, tipis, sleds, spears, canoes, kachinas, and cradleboards made for them by their parents and grandparents, kids role play the skills that will take them into adulthood. In time, they will pass along these skills to their own children and grandchildren. Each toy carries a unique legacy of history, tradition, design, and practical technique.
There are eighty-five full-color images, 25 sepia photos, and several stories, all placing them in the context in which we continue to use and play with them.
